Chemotherapy without hair loss
One of the side effects of chemotherapy, which is often considered inevitable, is hair loss. For most patients, especially for women, this is a severe blow.
EMC has implemented Paxman's unique ORBIS II technology ("cold shedding"), designed to prevent alopecia (hair loss) during chemotherapy in cancer patients.
The principle of operation of the "cold helmet" is to cool the scalp to -4 ° C 30 minutes before the start of administration of chemotherapeutic drugs, immediately during and after infusions. Under the influence of cold, blood vessels on the scalp spasm, the blood flow rate slows down, and the blood flow with the chemotherapy drug decreases sharply. Thus, there is no toxic effect on the hair follicle, a larger percentage of them is preserved. The "cold helmet" is put on before the administration of chemotherapeutic drugs and lasts for a period of 60-90 minutes after the start of therapy.
This technique is especially effective in the treatment of malignant diseases of the breast, ovaries, endometrium, lungs, prostate, gastrointestinal tract, etc.
From now on, hair loss is not inevitable!
